(Anchorage) – Looking for something new to do with your fresh catch or some of the fish in your freezer? If so, this is the forum for you! Join Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) staff at the William Jack Hernandez Sport Fish Hatchery (WJHSFH) on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for a fish smoking, canning, and pickling seminar! This seminar will be held in the WJHSFH conference room, located at 941 North Reeve Boulevard, Anchorage.
This is a free event for all individuals who are interested in learning about the materials, methods, and skills needed to successfully smoke, can, or pickle your catch. This class will be specifically geared toward fish, but the canning methods can be transferred to include game meat as well. ADF&G staff will also be available to discuss any fishing regulation questions.

For those anglers who are interested in fishing but aren’t quite ready to commit to the required fishing equipment, the ADF&G office in Anchorage and Palmer offer a free Rod Loaner Program throughout the year.
